Product Description

The Yokogawa AAM11B S2 Analog Input Module handles analog current and voltage signals within industrial control systems. It supports software-configurable input signal specifications and provides an auxiliary 1 to 5 VDC output. Furthermore, its 50 ms data update period, system-level signal insulation, and built-in transmitter power supply support analog signal acquisition and processing in DCS installations.

The AAM11B S2 accepts analog current and voltage signals. Its current input specification includes a 0 to 20 mA DC range, while the input signal type and range are configured through software. Auxiliary Output and Signal Functions

In addition to analog input processing, the module provides a 1 to 5 VDC auxiliary voltage output. The output has a maximum internal resistance of 1 ohm and requires a load resistance of at least 10 kohm. Its signal grounding is shared with the system.

Furthermore, square root extraction is available when specified. This function can process applicable differential-pressure flow measurement signals before the resulting value enters the control system.

Accuracy and Signal Isolation

The specified accuracy ratings are +/-4 mV for voltage input, +/-16 uA for current input, and +/-12 mV for auxiliary voltage output. Meanwhile, a 10 deg C ambient temperature change introduces additional measurement deviations, which should be considered when evaluating signal accuracy.

The input signals are insulated between systems, with a withstand voltage of 1500 VAC for one minute. This insulation helps separate input signal circuits from other system sections and limits the effects of electrical interference between systems.

The AAM11B S2 installs in an I/O Module Nest. For electrical connections, the module connects to the nest terminals using M4 screws. Therefore, the receiving I/O Module Nest and its terminal arrangement should be checked before installation.
