The Triconex MP 3009 / 3009 Main Processor Module is engineered for Tricon v9–v11 systems, offering fault-tolerant and highly reliable control of critical industrial processes. It integrates dual-core QorIQ P1021 processors with extensive DRAM, SRAM, and Flash memory, ensuring uninterrupted execution of complex automation tasks. Moreover, the module architecture supports redundant I/O processing, allowing continuous operation even during transient faults. In addition, comprehensive diagnostics and multiple communication interfaces enable precise system monitoring, simplified maintenance, and rapid fault identification.

Main Processor diagnostics include these features: 

• Verify fixed-program memory
• Verify the static portion of RAM 
• Test all basic processor instructions and operating modes 
• Test all basic floating-point processor instructions 
• Verify the shared memory interface with I/O processors 
• Verify each I/O processor, communication processor, local memory, shared memory access, and loopback of RS-485 transceivers 
• Verify the TriClock interface 
• Verify the Tribus interface

At the bottom of each MP, there is an RS-232 serial port that can be used for diagnostic analysis  by Invensys representatives.
