Honeywell has appointed a strategically diverse Board of Directors to lead Solstice Advanced Materials as a standalone specialty materials company. The ten-member board will be chaired by Dr. Rajeev Gautam, who will serve as the Independent Chair. David Sewell will continue to be President and CEO, transitioning to the same role post-spin-off. The board consists of seasoned leaders with profound experience in industrial, technology, chemicals, and materials sectors.
Solstice Advanced Materials will be spun off from Honeywell in the fourth quarter of 2025 and will be an independent company. It will be a pure-play specialty materials company with leading market positions in refrigerants, semiconductor materials, protective fibers, and healthcare packaging.
The new board members have cross-industry experience and proven leadership. Some of the members are:
Peter Gibbons, former Group President of Enterprise Supply Chain at 3M, with deep manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering experience.
Fiona Laird, CHRO and SVP of Communications at Marathon Petroleum, with prior leadership roles at Andeavor, Newell Brands, and Unilever.
Rose Lee, former CEO of Cornerstone Building Brands, with senior executive roles at DuPont, Saint-Gobain, Booz Allen Hamilton, and Pratt & Whitney.
William Oplinger, President and CEO of Alcoa Corporation, former COO and CFO.
Sivasankaran "Soma" Somasundaram, former CEO of ChampionX Corporation, with executive roles at Dover, GL&V, and Baker Hughes.
Other experienced board members include Matthew Trerotola (former CEO of Enovis Corporation), Patrick Ward (former CFO of Cummins Inc.), and Brian Worrell (former CFO of Baker Hughes).
