Product Description
The DS200TCTGG1A is a Turbine Trip Board (TCTG) manufactured by General Electric for the Mark V turbine control system. It controls the turbine fuel shutoff valves through primary and emergency trip relays. Furthermore, the board handles synchronization relay functions and supports hardwired turbine trips by interrupting 24 VDC power to the trip relays.

Turbine Trip and Relay Functions
The DS200TCTGG1A controls the turbine fuel shutoff valves through two types of trip relays: Primary Trip Relays (PTRs) and Emergency Trip Relays (ETRs).
- Primary Trip Relays (PTRs): The CSP controls these relays. Communication errors can also initiate primary trip actions.
- Emergency Trip Relays (ETRs): The TCEA boards in the core manage these relays. An emergency trip requires a 2-out-of-3 voting decision.
- Hardwired Trip Inputs: External pushbuttons can initiate a turbine trip by switching off the 24 VDC supply to the PTR and ETR relays.
In addition, the TCTG board houses synchronization relays. These relays process synchronization commands from the TCQA board and work with bus and generator signals from the PTBA board.
Hardware Configuration
The DS200TCTGG1A has one hardware jumper, designated J1 (Emergency Overspeed Servo Clamp). Activating this jumper opens servo valves 14. Furthermore, the jumper is required when applying 24 VDC to the servo outputs.
The actual relay for this servo function is located on the TCQC board. The TCTG board does not have a software configuration.
Connector Functions
| Connector | Function |
|---|---|
| J7W | Distributes 125 VDC power from the TCPD board throughout the core. |
| JDR | Handles relays K10, K13, K16, and K19. Reads PTR trip signals and synchronization commands from the TCQA board, as well as bus and generator signals from the PTBA board. |
| JDS | Handles relays K11, K14, K17, and K20. Reads PTR trip signals and synchronization commands from the TCQA board, as well as bus and generator signals from the PTBA board. |
| JDT | Handles relays K12, K15, K18, and K21. Reads PTR trip signals and synchronization commands from the TCQA board, as well as bus and generator signals from the PTBA board. |
JDR, JDS, and JDT connect in a daisy-chain arrangement on the TCTG board. This arrangement links the three connector groups for relay and signal distribution.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the main function of the DS200TCTGG1A?
A: The DS200TCTGG1A controls turbine fuel shutoff functions through primary and emergency trip relays. It also handles synchronization relay functions and supports hardwired turbine trip commands.
Q: What is the difference between PTR and ETR relays?
A: The CSP controls the primary trip relays (PTRs), while the TCEA boards manage the emergency trip relays (ETRs). Emergency trips use a 2-out-of-3 voting arrangement.
Q: What does jumper J1 do on the DS200TCTGG1A?
A: J1 is the Emergency Overspeed Servo Clamp jumper. Activating it opens servo valves 14. It is also required when applying 24 VDC to the servo outputs.
