Product Description
The AAI841 is an analog I/O module from Yokogawa that provides 8-channel 4-20 mA input and 8-channel 4-20 mA output in a non-isolated configuration. It handles analog signal acquisition and output transmission within a control system. Furthermore, the module supports HART communication in the corresponding digital communication configuration, with channel-level selection for 2-wire or 4-wire transmitters.
Analog Signal Processing
The module processes input and output signals independently. Input channels accept 4-20 mA signals and convert them into internal control data, while output channels convert control data into corresponding 4-20 mA signals. The 10 ms data update period supports cyclic signal processing. Meanwhile, the 100 ms input and 40 ms output step response times define the module's response to changes in analog signals.
Transmitter Configuration and HART Communication
Each input channel supports either a 2-wire or 4-wire transmitter, selected through a setting pin. The transmitter power supply provides at least 14.8 V at 20 mA. Furthermore, the output circuit detects an open circuit when the output current falls below 0.65 mA.
