Product Description

The KL3003X1-BA1 is an Emerson DI 24 VDC Dry Contact CHARM designed for digital input signal interfacing within the DeltaV Electronic Marshalling system. It connects dry contact field signals to the CHARM I/O subsystem through the CHARM Bus. Furthermore, it supports hazardous-area installations with specified ATEX, IECEx, FM and UKEX certifications, subject to the applicable installation requirements.

Installation and Terminal Block Requirements

The CHARM uses a mechanical keying system to ensure compatibility with its terminal block. The terminal block keys are automatically configured when the CHARM is first installed. To install a different CHARM type, remove the terminal block and release the keys from their locked position before changing the configuration.

Important installation restrictions:

• Do not insert or remove the unit while system power is energized unless the area is confirmed to be non-hazardous.
• Complete an I/O loop assessment for all energy-limited nodes.
• Follow document 12P5403, DeltaV Electronic Marshalling Digital Automation System (CHARM I/O Subsystem) Zone 2 Installation Instructions, for applicable hazardous-area installation requirements.

Maintenance and Calibration

The KL3003X1-BA1 contains no user-serviceable parts and must not be disassembled. Furthermore, calibration is not required. Check the product label for the serial number and the manufacturing location and date when identifying the unit.
