Modelnya 4609 Modul Komunikasi Lanjutan (ACM) berfungsi sebagai antarmuka antara pengendali Tricon dan sistem Foxboro Intelligent Automation (I/A) Series, yang muncul ke sistem Foxboro sebagai node keselamatan pada I/A Series Nodebus. ACM mengkomunikasikan informasi proses dengan kecepatan data jaringan penuh untuk digunakan di mana saja pada sistem I/A Series, mengirimkan semua data alias Tricon (termasuk variabel sistem dan alias sistem) serta informasi diagnostik ke workstation operator dalam format tampilan yang sudah dikenal oleh operator Foxboro. ACM menyediakan fungsi-fungsi berikut untuk I/A Series:

• Menangani titik I/O kritis dan meneruskan hasil ke I/A Series menggunakan Object Management Database (OMDB)

• Membaca/menulis data alias untuk memenuhi permintaan I/A Series
• Sinkronisasi waktu dari lingkungan I/A Series
• Membaca diagnostik Tricon untuk ditampilkan oleh workstation I/A Series
• Proteksi tulis untuk mengunci perubahan pada pengontrol Tricon dari semua sumber I/A Series
• Kemampuan hot-spare untuk komunikasi tanpa henti dengan I/A Series Nodebus
