S800 I/O Density and Modulebus Integration

The AI810 increases analog I/O density by combining eight configurable channels within one S800 I/O module. Each channel can process supported current or voltage signals according to the connected field circuit requirements. The module receives operating power through the S800 Modulebus and consumes 70 mA from the +5 V Modulebus supply and 40 mA from the +24 V Modulebus supply.

In addition, the 12-bit conversion process transfers analog measurement values into the automation system through the S800 I/O architecture. The 140 ms input filter rise time reduces the influence of rapid signal fluctuations. The specified NMRR of more than 40 dB at 50 Hz and 60 Hz also supports operation in industrial electrical environments.

Integrated PTC current-limiting resistors protect the input circuits against overvoltage and short-circuit conditions. Therefore, current and voltage input circuits tolerate specified abnormal field conditions up to 30 VDC without destructive damage.
