REC670 digunakan untuk kontrol, perlindungan dan pemantauan berbagai jenis teluk di jaringan listrik. IED sangat cocok untuk aplikasi dalam sistem kontrol di mana fitur bus stasiun IEC 61850–8–1 Ed 1 atau Ed 2 dari REC670 dapat dimanfaatkan sepenuhnya. Ini digunakan untuk interlocking di seluruh stasiun melalui pesan GOOSE dan MMS server-klien vertikal
komunikasi ke stasiun lokal atau tempat kerja operator SCADA jarak jauh. Hal ini mendukung arsitektur dengan IED kontrol terdistribusi di semua ruang dengan tuntutan keandalan yang tinggi.
Komunikasi redundan diperoleh melalui fitur PRP bawaan yang dapat digunakan dalam arsitektur star atau ringbus. REC670 dapat digunakan pada semua level tegangan. Sangat cocok untuk mengendalikan semua peralatan dalam semua jenis pengaturan switchgear.
