Modul 3500/60 & 61 menyediakan enam saluran pemantauan suhu dan menerima input suhu dari Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) serta Thermocouple (TC). Modul-modul ini mengkondisikan input tersebut dan membandingkannya dengan titik set alarm yang dapat diprogram oleh pengguna. 3500/60 dan 3500/61 memiliki fungsi yang identik kecuali bahwa 3500/61 menyediakan output perekam untuk masing-masing dari enam salurannya, sedangkan 3500/60 tidak.

Pengguna memprogram modul untuk melakukan pengukuran suhu RTD atau TC menggunakan Perangkat Lunak Konfigurasi Rak 3500. Berbagai modul I/O tersedia dalam versi RTD/TC non-terisolasi atau TC terisolasi. Pengguna dapat mengonfigurasi versi RTD/TC non-terisolasi untuk menerima input TC atau RTD, atau campuran input TC dan RTD. Versi TC terisolasi menyediakan isolasi saluran-ke-saluran sebesar 250 Vdc untuk melindungi dari gangguan eksternal.
