El Emerson EPRO MMS6822 actúa como traductor para máquinas industriales. Sirve de puente entre el sistema de monitoreo de máquinas MMS 6000 de Emerson y otros sistemas de control. Los módulos MMS 6000 recopilan datos de la maquinaria, pero estos datos no siempre son compatibles con otros sistemas. Aquí es donde interviene el MMS6822. Recopila datos de los módulos MMS 6000 a través de un bus interno RS-485 y los convierte a un formato legible por sistemas externos. Esta conversión utiliza dos protocolos: Modbus RTU para comunicación interna y Modbus TCP/IP para conexiones de red externa. El MMS6822 transmite los datos convertidos a través de Ethernet, lo que permite que otras máquinas monitoreen y analicen información vital del sistema MMS 6000.
