Der Triconex 3008N ist ein hochzuverlässiges Hauptprozessormodul, das für das fehlertolerante Steuerungssystem Tricon V10 entwickelt wurde. Basierend auf der Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR)-Architektur gewährleistet es einen kontinuierlichen Betrieb und SIL 3-zertifizierte Sicherheit in missionskritischen Industrieumgebungen.
Drei MPs müssen im Hauptchassis jedes Tricon-Systems installiert sein. Jeder MP kommuniziert unabhängig mit seinem I/O-Subsystem und führt das vom Benutzer geschriebene Steuerungsprogramm aus
